About Meadowfield Lodge

We are Meadowfield Lodge, a residential care home in Bridlington. We look after older people, including those living with dementia, and we take respite bookings for shorter stays. We keep things deliberately homely. People arrive with their own furniture, pictures and habits, and those come first. What time you like to wake, where you want your breakfast, whether you feel sociable today or would rather sit quietly with the paper: those decisions stay with you. A good deal of what makes a day here pleasant is quite ordinary, and we would rather describe it plainly than dress it up. For people living with dementia the useful work is in the detail. Knowing somebody's history and the work they did, recognising early what tends to unsettle them, being willing to go at their pace rather than the rota's. Done properly that prevents a great deal of distress before it starts. We also think a home should stay part of its own town. Bridlington and the seafront are on the doorstep, and we support people to keep up the connections they already have. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable hour. Please ring us if you would like to look round.
