Bridlington Manor is a residential care home in Bridlington, caring for older people and for younger adults who need support with daily living, including people who are living with dementia. We offer permanent residential care and shorter respite stays, whether a family carer needs a planned break or somebody needs a safe place to recover their confidence after time in hospital. When a person moves in we spend time learning about their life before us, the work they did, the people who matter to them, the routines they have kept for years and the small preferences that make a day bearable or pleasant. Care plans then follow the person, rather than the person having to fit the plan. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission gave us an overall rating of requires improvement, and we would rather say so plainly than leave you to find it. We understand what the inspectors asked us to put right, we are working through those points, and we will talk any family through the detail if they want it. We think you are entitled to ask hard questions and get straight answers. Day to day, the things that matter here are much the same as they are anywhere. Meals people look forward to, company when it is wanted, quiet when it is not, help given without fuss, and relatives welcome to visit and to be told honestly how their mother, father or partner is getting on.
