About Sitara Haven
Sitara Haven is a residential care home in Southall providing a home for adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, and people living with mental health conditions. We think of this as somewhere people live rather than somewhere they are placed. Everybody has their own room, their own things around them and their own way of going about the day, and our staff fit around that. Support ranges from prompting and encouragement through to full help with personal care, depending on what each person needs, and it is agreed with the person and the people who know them best. Communication gets a lot of attention here. We take time to learn how somebody expresses themselves, what a change in behaviour is telling us, and what makes a day go well or badly, and we write that down so that everyone working with the person understands it. We work with the health and social care professionals involved so that support is consistent rather than pulled in different directions. Southall is on the doorstep and we use it. People are supported to shop, to attend activities and appointments, to see family and friends, and to keep up the religious and cultural practices that matter to them. We can also offer respite stays. If you are looking for a placement, please contact us and come and see the house.
