About Legh House
Legh House is a residential care home in Weymouth providing care for older people, along with shorter respite stays. We are a straightforward place. There is no elaborate philosophy behind what we do beyond looking after people properly and letting them get on with their lives. The care covers help with washing and dressing, prompting and administering medication, meals cooked on the premises, support with mobility, and somebody always about when a person needs them. People choose how much they want to join in. Some are in the lounge from breakfast onwards and some prefer their own room with the door open, and neither choice attracts any comment. The point of a home is that you live in it the way you want to. Weymouth is home for most of the people living here, many of whom have spent their lives in the town or nearby. We keep those connections going with trips out, visitors and a good deal of flexibility about when family can come. They can come whenever they like. Respite stays are useful when a family carer needs a break, or when somebody is building their strength back up after being unwell. Please ring us if you would like to come and look round.
