About Kingsley Court
We are Kingsley Court, a residential care home in Weymouth, Dorset, supporting older people who need help with everyday living, including people living with dementia. We think of this as somebody's home rather than as a facility, and that shapes small decisions as much as large ones, from how people are spoken to in the morning to whether they get a say in what is on the menu. Everyone here keeps their own room, their own belongings and as much of their own routine as they wish. Some people like company and the busier parts of the day, others prefer quiet and their own space, and neither choice needs justifying. Help with washing, dressing, medication and getting about is given at the person's pace. For those living with dementia, we take time to learn a life history, because knowing about someone's work, family and interests makes it far easier to offer reassurance that actually lands. We also provide respite stays. A short planned stay can give a family carer a proper rest, or help somebody rebuild confidence after a spell in hospital before going home again. Being in Weymouth, trips out and time by the sea are an easy part of the week when people want them. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us good overall. Relatives are welcome to visit and to stay involved. If you are considering a care home in the Weymouth area, please come and see us.
