About Wolfeton Manor
Wolfeton Manor is a residential care home in Dorchester, Dorset, providing a home for older people who would rather not manage on their own any longer. Our residents arrive for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes the house had become too much to look after. Sometimes a fall or an illness changed what was realistic. Whatever brought someone here, our aim is that they come to think of this as home rather than somewhere they are staying. People bring their own things, keep their own routines and decide how their days go. Our staff quietly look after what has become difficult, including personal care, medication, meals and laundry, so that the rest of life can carry on. A great deal of the job is simply being good company, and we think the small things do most of the work. Knowing that someone farmed for forty years, or likes the garden better than the lounge, or cannot abide the radio at breakfast, is what turns care into something personal. Respite stays are available, whether a family carer needs a planned break or someone needs support for a few weeks after being unwell. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are pleased with that, and we keep asking residents and relatives what could be better. If you would like to see Wolfeton Manor, please ring and arrange a visit at a time that suits you.
