About Eastleigh Care Homes
We are a residential care home in South Molton, and we look after older people and younger adults across a wide range of needs, including dementia, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and sight or hearing loss. Our approach is fairly simple. We get to know a person properly before deciding anything about their care, and we keep asking rather than assuming. That means learning about the work someone did, the family they talk about, the food they like at the end of a long day and the things that frighten or frustrate them. Support built on that knowledge tends to be gentler and far more effective than support built on a checklist. For people living with dementia, we focus on familiarity, calm surroundings and staff who recognise distress early and respond to the feeling behind it. For younger adults and people with disabilities, our aim is to keep independence intact wherever it exists, and to give practical help where it does not. We welcome respite stays, and we treat them with the same care and planning as a permanent move. Devon families often need short term help at short notice, and we try to be straightforward about what we can arrange. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding.
