About Cadley Hill View
Cadley Hill View is a residential care home in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. We look after older people who need help with everyday life, people living with dementia, and people whose mental health means a steady, predictable place matters more than anything else we could offer. We are a home rather than an institution, and we try to behave like one. Mealtimes are flexible enough to suit people who wake early and people who do not. Residents keep their own belongings, their own habits and their own opinions about how things should be done. We ask at the start what someone wants to keep doing for themselves, and we take that seriously, because help given where it is not wanted takes something away. Support for people with dementia rests on consistency: the same faces, routines that do not shift without reason, surroundings that are easy to make sense of. Where mental health is the main need, we work calmly and without fuss, in step with the community teams involved, and we judge a week by how the person found it rather than by how it looked on paper. Our last overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. If you are weighing up homes for someone, come and see us without an appointment if you prefer. You will learn more from the atmosphere on an ordinary afternoon than from anything written here.
