About Solway House
Here at Solway House, we are a residential care home based in the heart of Maryport, Cumberland, and we are proud to support the people who live with us with genuine warmth and respect every single day. We care for older people, younger adults, and those who need a shorter stay with us through respite care. Whether someone moves in with us permanently or comes to us for a temporary period of rest and recovery, we work to make sure they feel at home here. Maryport is a place we know well, and being rooted in this community matters to us. Families and residents often tell us that it helps to know their loved ones are being supported locally, close to the people and places they know. Our team takes time to get to know each person properly, understanding their routines, preferences and the things that matter most to them. Good care, in our view, is not just about meeting physical needs. It is about making sure people feel heard, comfortable and valued in their day to day lives. We are pleased that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good. That reflects the effort our staff put in consistently, and we take that responsibility seriously. We never see a Good rating as a reason to stand still. We are always listening to feedback from residents and their families and looking at how we can continue to improve. If you are looking for care for yourself or someone you love, we would very much welcome the chance to have a conversation. You are welcome to get in touch or come and visit us here in Maryport.
