About Allanby House
Here at Allanby House, we provide residential care for adults in the heart of Maryport, Cumberland. We are a care home that supports people with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We also offer respite care, giving families and carers the reassurance of knowing their loved ones are in safe, capable hands when they need a break. We are proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in a "good" rating across the board. That matters to us, not simply as a stamp of approval, but because it reflects the everyday effort our team puts into making sure each person who lives here or stays with us feels genuinely at home. Life at Allanby House is built around the individual. We take the time to get to know each person properly, understanding what makes them comfortable, what they enjoy, and how they like their days to look. Our approach is straightforward: treat people with respect, listen carefully, and make decisions together wherever possible. Maryport is a community we are very much part of, and we value the connections our residents have with the town and the people in it. Whether that means supporting someone to get out and about locally or simply making sure the day to day routines that matter to them are upheld, we try to make that happen. If you are considering Allanby House for yourself or someone close to you, we would always encourage you to come and have a look around and ask us anything you would like to know. We would rather you felt fully informed and at ease than rushed into any decision. We are here to help, and we would love to hear from you.
