About Springfield
We are Springfield in Perranporth, Cornwall, a residential home supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. We also offer respite stays for people who want a short break or whose families need one. We think of this as a house where people live rather than a service they receive. Everyone has their own room, arranged as they want it, and a real say in how the household runs. We support people to keep up with family and friends, to get out into Perranporth and along the coast, to keep up with work, college or volunteering, and to take on more of their own routine at whatever pace suits them. Good support here depends on knowing people properly. We take time to learn how each person communicates, what unsettles them and what helps them recover when a day goes wrong, and we make sure anyone new understands all of it before supporting somebody alone. Keeping the staff team consistent is one of the most useful things we can do. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We use it as a reference point and keep questioning our own practice. If you are looking for residential support in Cornwall, please arrange to come and visit, meet the people who live here and see how an ordinary week runs.
