Here at Cross Keys in Penryn, Cornwall, we offer residential care for a wide range of people, and we take real pride in the community we have built together within our home. We support older people, those living with dementia, individuals with learning disabilities or autism, people with physical disabilities, and younger adults too. We also offer respite care for those who need a shorter stay, whether that is to give a family carer some time to rest or to help someone recover after a period of illness. Whatever brings someone through our door, we do our best to make sure they feel genuinely welcome and at ease from the very first day. Life at Cross Keys is shaped around the people who live here. We spend time getting to know each person, understanding what matters to them, what they enjoy, and how they like their days to look. Care is not one size fits all, and we do not treat it that way. Some residents want plenty of company and activity, others prefer a quieter rhythm, and we respect that entirely. Our team works hard to create an atmosphere that feels like home rather than an institution. We are honest with families, we keep communication open, and we involve the people we support in decisions about their own lives wherever possible. We are pleased that our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as good, and we see that as an honest reflection of the care and attention that goes into everything we do here.
