About The Hermitage
The Hermitage is a residential care home in Whittlesey for older people. What we provide is not complicated, but we try to do it properly. Help with washing, dressing, mobility and medication is given discreetly and at the pace a person prefers. Meals are cooked on the premises and served at a time that suits people rather than a rota. Rooms belong to the people who live in them, arranged the way they want with their own things around them. Before somebody moves in we spend time finding out how they have always run their day, because coming into a care home should not mean giving up your own habits. Those preferences are written down and staff are expected to work to them rather than to a house routine. There is company here for those who want it and quiet for those who do not. Many of the people who live with us have spent their lives in this part of Cambridgeshire, and we keep those connections going wherever we can, from family visits to routines that still matter. Short respite stays are available, whether to give a carer at home a proper break or to help somebody get their footing back after a spell in hospital. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and see us on an ordinary day.
