Here at The Elms, we provide residential care for older adults in the heart of Bristol, supporting people to live with comfort, dignity and a genuine sense of belonging. We are proud to have received a "good" rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the commitment our whole team brings to the people we look after every day. We specialise in a range of areas including dementia care, mental health support and respite care, meaning we are well placed to support individuals with varying needs and circumstances. Whether someone comes to us for a short stay to give a family carer some rest, or they make The Elms their long term home, we work hard to understand what matters most to each person and to build care around that. Dementia care sits at the heart of much of what we do. We know how unsettling life can feel for someone living with dementia, and equally how worrying it can be for families. Our approach is calm, consistent and person centred, helping residents feel safe and familiar in their surroundings while encouraging as much independence as is meaningful to them. We are also experienced in supporting people with mental health needs, recognising that emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical health. We take time to build trusting relationships so that residents feel heard and understood rather than simply looked after. Bristol is a city full of life and community, and we try to bring some of that spirit into daily life at The Elms through social activities, meaningful routines and plenty of opportunities for connection.
