About Brandon Trust - 261 Passage Road Care Home

Our home at 261 Passage Road in Bristol, part of Brandon Trust, provides residential care for adults with a learning disability and for autistic adults. We also offer respite stays. This is a house, and we want it to feel like one. The people who live here have their own rooms, their own things and their own ways of running a day, and the support is built around that rather than around a timetable that suits us. Some people here have lived together for a long time. Others come to us needing space and patience before they settle, and we give them both. Support is planned around what each person wants to do and to learn, not simply around keeping them safe. Cooking, shopping, handling money, getting out into Bristol, keeping up with family and friends, holding down activities or work during the week. Where someone needs a great deal of help, we still look for what they can take on, because independence slips away quietly if nobody is watching for it. We think carefully about communication and about the environment itself. Noise, lighting, how predictable things are and whether there is somewhere quiet to retreat to all affect how good a day somebody has. We learn how each person tells us what they want, including those who use little or no speech. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
