About Franklyn Lodge The Bungalow
Franklyn Lodge is a small residential home in Wembley supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, most of them younger adults getting on with lives of their own. Keeping the house small is deliberate. It means everybody knows each other and the staff properly, the atmosphere stays calm, and staff notice quickly when somebody is not themselves. People choose how their own room looks, join in with the shopping and cooking if they want to, and have a genuine say in how the household runs. Routines are built around the individual, including the ones that need to stay exactly the same from one day to the next, because predictability is often what allows a person to relax enough to try something new. Support is agreed with each person using whatever way of communicating already works for them, and we learn it properly rather than guessing and hoping. Being in London means plenty is within reach, and getting out is part of normal life here, whether that is an activity during the week, a job, seeing family or a trip that has become a fixture. Respite stays are available for people who need a short break or whose family carers do. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
