About Fosse Bank House
Fosse Bank House is a residential care home in Blackburn supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with mental health needs, residents with a physical disability and people living with sight or hearing loss. Many of those who live here are younger adults, and the house is run with that in mind. Support is planned one person at a time, because the needs here are so varied. Some residents want help through most of the day, including personal care and help to move safely. Others need little of that but depend on us for structure, encouragement and staff who understand how they communicate and what a hard day looks like for them. Everyday life includes cooking, shopping, laundry, keeping your own room as you want it, choosing how to spend the weekend and getting out locally. We support people to do what they can for themselves and we help properly where help is needed. For residents with mental health needs a calm and predictable household matters more than anything written in a plan, and we work closely with local services and doctors. Where there is sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate and do not move things without saying so. Respite stays are available and give family carers a genuine break. If you would like to see the house, please contact us and we will arrange a visit.
