About Priory Satellite
Priory Radstock is a small residential care home in Radstock, in Bath and North East Somerset. We support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, and adults living with a mental health condition. Most of the people here are younger adults, and we also offer respite stays. A home like this works best when it feels like somewhere people live rather than somewhere people are kept. That sounds obvious and it is surprisingly easy to get wrong. It means the people who live here have keys, choices, opinions about the shopping and a say in who works with them. It means support is agreed with the person and written in language they can actually read. It means that when somebody wants to do something we find a little risky, the conversation starts from how we might make it work rather than from no. Radstock sits in the old Somerset coalfield, with Bath a short bus ride away, and we use what is around us. College courses, work and volunteering, the gym, the pub, walking, family visits in both directions. Where someone needs a great deal of structure and predictability in order to feel safe, we provide exactly that, consistently, and without treating it as an inconvenience. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking for a placement for yourself or for someone in your family, come and meet us.
