About Bridge House Nursing Home
Bridge House Nursing Home is in Twyford, Berkshire. Having qualified nurses on duty means we can care for people whose health needs go beyond what a residential home can safely manage, and it usually means somebody can stay with us as their needs increase rather than facing another move at the hardest possible time. We care for older people who need nursing support, including many living with dementia and many with physical disabilities, and we support people living with sight or hearing loss and some younger adults. Respite stays are available for people needing nursing care for a limited period. Clinically we concentrate on what makes the greatest difference: medication given correctly, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, pain managed properly, safe moving and handling, and acting early when a condition alters. Where physical disability is part of the picture we think hard about equipment, seating and positioning, because those details decide how comfortable and how independent somebody can be. We work closely with the GP practice and community health teams who support us. The rest of the job is making this a good place to live. People keep their own rooms and their own belongings, choose when to get up and what to eat, and can have company or quiet as they prefer. Families are welcome at any reasonable hour. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to visit.
