About Ashwood Court Supportive Pathways
Ashwood Court provides nursing care for adults managing mental health conditions, including older people and younger adults. We also offer respite stays for shorter periods. Our work sits between mental health care and nursing care, and the people who come to us often have both kinds of need at once. Many have had unsettled periods and a number of moves, so the first thing we try to offer is somewhere calm where nothing changes without warning and where people are treated as adults making their own decisions. People have their own rooms and their own routines, and they have a real say in how their days go. Support is agreed with each person rather than imposed. For some that means working towards managing more for themselves, perhaps around cooking, money, appointments or getting back into activity and routine. For others it means reliable support that simply holds steady while health is fragile. Both are legitimate, and we try not to push people towards goals that are ours rather than theirs. We work closely with community mental health colleagues, social workers and families, because support everybody has agreed on is the support that lasts. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep examining our practice around privacy, choice and the way concerns are handled. If you are considering a place with us, please come and visit and ask us whatever you need to know.
