Safe
Inspectors found that people felt safe at the home. Risks to people had been assessed and staff followed guidance to keep people safe. Staffing levels were enough to meet people's needs, and medicines were managed safely.
Effective
Inspectors found that staff received regular training and were encouraged to build their skills and experience. Staff took action to involve healthcare professionals whenever necessary. People enjoyed the food and could make suggestions for changes to the menu.
Caring
Inspectors found that staff valued and celebrated individuality and diversity. People spoke of a family feel and had close relationships with staff. The relationships between staff and people showed dignity and respect at all times.
Responsive
Inspectors found that care plans described people's needs in a thorough and person-centred way. The home offered activities seven days a week. Some people who preferred to spend time in their rooms said they would like more social contact, and the registered manager was looking at ways to expand one to one support.
Well-led
Inspectors found that the registered manager had shaped a culture where people were at the heart of the service. There was a clear leadership and management structure, so staff understood their roles and responsibilities. The service was well organised and had systems in place to support smooth running and good communication.
