About Galanos House

We are Galanos House, a nursing home in Southam, Warwickshire. We provide nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia, and we also take respite stays. Because qualified nurses are here at every hour, changes in a resident's health are noticed by people who already know them and acted on without delay. It means someone does not have to move when their condition becomes more complicated, and it means care at the end of life can be given here, among familiar faces, when that is what a person and their family want. Dementia care takes up a great deal of our attention, and we approach it by trying to understand the person rather than the condition. A resident's history, their working life, what they were proud of and what they would never have put up with tells us how to reach them on a difficult morning. When somebody is distressed there is almost always a reason, and it is more often practical than people expect. Alongside all of that we try to keep life here ordinary. Own routines, own belongings, meals worth sitting down to, and visitors who do not need to arrange it first. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding.
