About Moultrie Road
Moultrie Road in Rugby is a nursing home for adults with mental health needs. We provide nursing care for people whose mental health difficulties mean they need qualified support on hand, and we also offer respite stays. Having registered nurses on duty at all hours changes what is possible here. Physical health, medication and mental health are looked after together rather than separately, which matters because the two are so often tangled up with one another. We work closely with community mental health teams, GPs and consultants, and we would far rather involve them early than wait until a situation becomes difficult. Everyone here has a plan worked out with them covering what they want their life to include, what helps when things become hard and what they would like us to do if they become unwell. Agreeing that in advance means nobody is improvising in a crisis. Beyond the clinical side, this is somewhere people live. Residents decide how their days run, keep their own interests, furnish their rooms as they wish and see family without appointment. We look for the reason behind distress rather than simply managing the surface of it, and anything that restricts a person's freedom is agreed properly, recorded and kept under review with the aim of reducing it. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Families, advocates and professionals are welcome to visit.
