About Bennett Court
Bennett Court is a nursing home in Pontefract. We care for older people whose needs go beyond residential care, for younger adults living with conditions that require qualified nursing, for people with physical disabilities, and for people living with mental ill health alongside a physical condition. Respite stays are available when a family carer needs cover. Registered nurses are on duty here at every hour, which is what makes that range possible. Medication is managed closely, wound care and conditions that fluctuate are handled on site, and a change in somebody's health is generally noticed early because the person noticing knows them. We work with GPs, district nurses, community mental health teams, therapists and hospital staff, and we keep asking when a resident needs something that is slow to arrive. Alongside that, dementia care is a significant part of our work, and we treat it as caring for a person with a history rather than managing a condition. Knowing that somebody worked the pits, or sang, or always took their tea early is genuinely practical information when words have stopped being reliable. For younger adults, we are conscious that nobody plans to live in a nursing home, so privacy, independence and holding on to friendships and interests get real attention from us rather than lip service. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families are welcome whenever they want to come. Ring us if you would like to look round.
