About Squadron Manor
Squadron Manor is a nursing home in Gravesend. Qualified nurses are on duty here throughout the day and night, which is what allows us to take people whose needs a residential home could not safely meet. We care for older adults, including many living with dementia, for people with a physical disability who need daily help with moving and positioning, and for people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing. We also support younger adults whose health needs require nursing, and we take care that they are not quietly folded into a routine built for people decades older. Where sight or hearing has gone, an ordinary building starts working against a person, so we pay attention to light, contrast, noise and how staff approach somebody rather than simply arriving at the bedside. We say what we are about to do before we do it. The nursing itself is detailed and unhurried, covering medicines, wounds, pain, pressure care and making sure people eat and drink enough. The part no procedure covers is noticing early when somebody is not themselves, and that rests on continuity of staff. Respite admissions are available as well as permanent places. We have not yet had a full inspection by the Care Quality Commission, so there is no overall rating to show you. Come and see the home instead, on an ordinary day.
