About Faversham House Nursing Home
Faversham House is a nursing home in Trafford. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing on the premises, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We also offer respite stays. Having nurses here at all hours means changing health, skin and wound care, complicated medication and care at the end of life can be managed here, alongside the GP and community teams, rather than by moving somebody at the point they would least want to be moved. It also means deterioration is usually noticed early. Around the nursing, this is a home. People keep their own belongings, decide how the day goes and are not expected to fall in with a timetable. Some want company and something on, others want quiet and their own room, and both are entirely reasonable. Where dementia or sensory loss makes communication harder, we slow down, check that hearing aids and glasses are working and being worn, and give people the time to answer. We ask families to tell us about the person they knew long before nursing care came into it, because that is what allows us to understand somebody properly. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering nursing care in Trafford, please ring us and arrange a visit.
