About The Cottage Christian Nursing and Residential Home
The Cottage is a Christian nursing and residential home in Newport, Shropshire. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside help with daily living, for residents living with dementia, for people with a physical disability and for people whose sight or hearing is impaired. We also care for some younger adults. Our Christian character shapes the atmosphere of the house rather than dictating how anyone must live. Services and quiet space are there for those who want them, and nobody is expected to take part. What matters more is that people are treated with patience and attention, whatever they believe. Nurses on duty around the clock let us manage wound and pressure care, continence needs, diabetes, pain relief and end of life care. For residents living with dementia we keep the day predictable and staff consistent. Where sight or hearing is impaired we keep belongings where they are expected and check we have been understood. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families in Telford and Wrekin are welcome to visit.
