About Guide Lane Nursing Home
Guide Lane is a nursing home in Tameside, on the eastern side of Manchester. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing alongside help with daily living, including people living with dementia and people with a physical disability. We also take respite bookings, whether to give a family carer a break or to support someone recovering after a hospital stay. Having nurses on site changes what can be managed here. Wound care, catheters, complicated medication and health that shifts week to week are dealt with in the home rather than through repeated trips to hospital, which matters most at the stage when somebody is worn out by being moved around. The nursing is only half of it. People here choose how their day runs, keep their own things around them, eat food they actually want and see their families whenever they like. Dementia care in particular asks for consistency, so our staff learn the routines, the names and the times of day that are harder for each person. We talk straightforwardly with relatives, especially when health is changing. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
