About Queen Elizabeth Care Centre
Queen Elizabeth Care Centre is a nursing home in Egham, Surrey. We are registered for nursing care, so qualified nurses are on duty here at every hour rather than calling in. People usually come to us at the point where health needs have grown beyond what a residential home or a family at home can safely manage. Most of the people living with us are older adults. Many have dementia. Some have lived for a long time with a mental health condition, and some have a physical disability that requires daily help with moving and positioning. We also support younger adults who need nursing care, and we take care that they are not folded into a routine designed for people decades older. The clinical work here is detailed and we do not treat it casually. Medicines, wounds, pain, pressure care, nutrition and the steady habit of noticing when somebody is not themselves. That last one depends almost entirely on the same staff seeing the same people, which is why we work hard at keeping our team. Around all that, we try to protect an ordinary life. Choice about rising and dressing, food worth eating, the garden, and visitors whenever you can get here. Respite admissions are available where needs are too clinical for a residential home. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Come and look round, and ask us the questions you feel awkward asking.
