About Ballater House
Ballater House is a nursing home in Coulsdon caring for older people and younger adults, including adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, and people living with mental ill health. Qualified nurses are on duty throughout the day and night. Nursing on site means health needs are met here as they arise rather than arranged around visits from elsewhere, and it means our nurses and carers work as one team. How somebody likes their day to run, and what settles them when they are anxious, counts alongside the clinical detail. Because the people we care for have very different needs, we plan individually. Some need nursing support delivered precisely and reliably. Others mainly need comfort, good food and help staying in touch with the people who matter. Where somebody has a learning disability or is autistic, we learn their way of communicating properly before making decisions about them. Where mental ill health is part of the picture, we work closely with community teams and involve the person in decisions rather than talking over them. Meals are cooked here and adapted where swallowing or appetite is a difficulty. Families are welcome and we give them a straight account of how somebody is. Short stays are available. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring to arrange a visit.
