About Oakfield Nursing Home
Oakfield Nursing Home is in Ashtead. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside help with everyday living, including people living with mental health conditions, and we also care for some younger adults with complex health needs. Having nurses on duty at every hour of the day and night is what lets us look after people properly as their health changes. We manage wound and pressure care, continence and catheter needs, diabetes, pain relief and end of life care, and we work closely with GPs, district nurses and hospital teams so that treatment is joined up rather than fragmented. It also means somebody whose condition worsens can usually stay here, with familiar staff around them, instead of facing another move. Supporting people with mental health needs alongside nursing care comes down to consistency and knowing people well. We learn what a difficult stretch looks like for each person and what tends to help, and we stay steady when things are not going well. Respite stays are available, including nursing support after a hospital discharge. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families across Surrey are welcome to visit.
