About Cleves Place
We are a nursing home in Haverhill, caring for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing support, including people living with dementia, mental health needs and physical disabilities. Having nurses on duty at every hour of the day and night shapes what we can do. Health is watched continually rather than only when something goes wrong, medicines are managed closely, and we work with GPs, district nurses and specialist teams so that treatment happens here wherever that is kinder than a journey to hospital. It also means someone can usually stay with us as their needs increase, instead of facing another move at the worst possible time. A good deal of our attention goes on dementia care. Surroundings are kept calm and easy to make sense of, our team learn each person's history and habits, and we treat distress as something with a cause rather than a behaviour to be managed. Families hold most of that knowledge and we ask for it and use it. Respite stays are available for people recovering after illness or hospital treatment and for families needing a break, planned as carefully as a permanent place. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are pleased with that, though the truer test is whether the people living here feel settled and properly cared for on an ordinary Tuesday. Please come and see us and judge for yourself.
