Here at Montague Road Care Home in Felixstowe, Suffolk, we provide nursing care for older adults, people living with dementia, those experiencing mental health difficulties, younger adults, and individuals who need short term respite support. Safe

Inspectors found people were provided with a safe service. Risks in daily living were assessed, and systems were in place to reduce them. There were enough staff to support people when needed, staff recruitment was done safely, and the service was clean and hygienic.

Effective

Inspectors found staff received training to meet people's needs effectively. People received care and support to ensure good health and nutrition, and the environment was suitable for the people living there. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives, and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible.

Caring

Inspectors found people shared positive relationships with the staff working in the service.

Responsive

Inspectors found people received extremely responsive care, tailor made to their individual needs and preferences, and their choices were consistently upheld. Care at the end of life was in line with the choices people made. People took part in meaningful activities, and the service used therapies such as music, animals and doll therapy where appropriate.

Well-led

Inspectors found the service was extremely well-led. People and staff were truly involved in running the service and were consistently consulted. The systems to monitor and assess the service were robust and supported the provider to keep improving it.
