About Ainsdale Court
We are Ainsdale Court, a nursing home in Prescot, in the borough of St Helens. We care for older people and younger adults needing nursing support, including those living with dementia and people with a physical disability, and we take respite admissions alongside permanent residents. Having qualified nurses here at every hour is the practical difference between us and a residential home. Changes in a resident's health are picked up by staff who already know them, a move elsewhere is rarely necessary when a condition shifts, and care at the end of life can be given here among familiar people. For residents living with dementia, we shape the day around the person rather than expecting them to fit our timetable, and when somebody is distressed we look for what is causing it first. For people with a physical disability, the difference between good care and poor care is usually time and detail: an unhurried transfer, equipment set up properly, and asking the person who knows how it is best managed. We work at keeping life here recognisably ordinary, with own routines, own belongings and visitors who do not need to book. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
