About Beech House Care Home
Beech House Care Home is a nursing home in Bristol, serving families across South Gloucestershire. We care for older people who need nursing support, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us outstanding overall. We are proud of it and careful with it, because a rating describes one particular week and all the work that earned it has to carry on afterwards. Having qualified nurses on site around the clock means people whose health is genuinely complicated can stay with us as things change, rather than moving on at the point familiarity counts for most. Wounds, pain, continence, nutrition, medication and safe movement are properly managed here. What we think sits behind our rating, though, is the ordinary side. People choose when they get up, what they wear, what is on the plate and how the afternoon goes. We knock, we explain what we are about to do, and we wait to be told it is all right. Where sight or hearing loss is part of the picture we get the small habits right: saying who we are as we come in, leaving furniture where it belongs, checking that glasses and hearing aids are working. We also take complaints seriously. Most of what we have improved here began with somebody telling us plainly that something was not good enough.
