About 121 Watleys End Road

Our home at 121 Watleys End Road in Bristol is a small nursing home for adults with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with physical disabilities whose health needs call for qualified nursing. Respite stays are available as well. Combining nursing with learning disability support is specialised work, and it is the reason we keep the house small. The people who live here often rely on precise routines, on equipment that has to be right, and on staff who know exactly how things are done for them. A new face who has not been trained on the detail is not much help, so we train our team for the specific person rather than in general terms, and we keep that team as steady as we can. Support is planned with the person and with whoever they want involved, which usually means family and often therapists and commissioners too. It covers personal care, moving and handling, medication and clinical needs, and it covers the ordinary things as well: getting out, seeing people, doing what somebody actually enjoys. We should be open about our position. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We have worked through the findings with our team and those areas are where our effort is concentrated at present. We would rather tell you ourselves and be asked about it. Families and professionals considering the house for somebody are welcome to visit and question us closely.
