About The Winsor Nursing Home
The Winsor Nursing Home is in Minehead, Somerset. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside everyday support, for residents living with dementia, for people with physical disabilities and with a visual or hearing impairment, and for younger adults with nursing needs. We also offer respite stays. Having registered nurses on duty at all hours matters particularly in a part of the country where hospitals are not close. Wounds, medication, pain relief, continence, long term conditions and end of life care are managed here, with GPs, community specialists and hospital teams involved when their input helps, rather than people travelling for every change in their health. It also means residents do not have to move on as their needs increase, and for somebody who has settled here that continuity is worth a great deal. The home runs at the residents' own pace. People choose when to get up, what to eat and how they spend the day, rooms are furnished with their own belongings, and visitors are welcome without appointment. For residents living with dementia we keep surroundings familiar and staffing consistent, and we take time to understand what lies behind distress. The Care Quality Commission rated us good overall at our most recent inspection. Please come and look round and meet the team.
