About The Priory Care Home
We are a nursing home in Shirley, Solihull, caring for older people and for adults with physical disabilities who need the support of qualified nurses. Registered nurses are here day and night, so treatment, medication and pain relief are managed properly at the time they are needed rather than waiting on somebody else's timetable. Nursing care is only part of what happens here. The rest is the day itself, which we try to keep as much like anybody's as we can. Getting up when it suits, deciding what to eat, sitting somewhere comfortable, and choosing whether to join in with what is going on or leave it alone. We take the trouble to learn about people before we look after them. What they did, who matters to them, what they find funny and what they cannot bear. It is not sentiment, it is practical, and it produces better care than a set of notes ever will. Relatives are welcome, and we keep them informed rather than making them ask. We offer respite and short stays as well as permanent nursing places, which can help after a hospital stay or when a carer at home needs a rest. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated the home Good. Please contact us to arrange a visit.
