About Harper Fields
Harper Fields is a nursing home in the Solihull area. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, we support people living with dementia and people with a physical disability, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. Something we take seriously is having the difficult conversations before a crisis forces them. What somebody would want if they became very unwell, whether they would want to go into hospital, who should be consulted and what matters most to them towards the end of life. Those discussions are far easier while a person can take part in them, and families are almost always glad afterwards that they happened rather than being made in a corridor at two in the morning. The rest is more ordinary. Nurses are on duty at all hours, so medication, skin care, nutrition and pain are managed here and changes are noticed by people who know how somebody normally is. Alongside that we work at getting people up and dressed, eating properly, outside when they want to be and in touch with their families. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering nursing care locally, please come and visit. We are happy to answer hard questions, including when the answer is that we are not the right place.
