About Halcyon House
Halcyon House is a nursing home in Liverpool, within Sefton, where qualified nurses are on duty around the clock alongside our care team. People come to us when their health needs have gone beyond what residential care or support at home can safely manage, and our purpose is to meet those needs without the whole day turning into a medical routine. We look after older people and, where it is right for them, younger adults with nursing needs. Many of the people living here are also living with dementia, and we pay close attention to the ordinary things that make that easier: a settled routine, familiar faces, rooms that make sense to walk around, and staff who understand that behaviour is usually communication rather than a problem to be managed. Nursing care here covers wound care, continence support, management of long term conditions, help with eating and swallowing difficulties, and careful oversight of medication. We work closely with local GPs, district nurses and specialist teams, and we would far rather ask for advice early than wait and see. We also welcome people for shorter respite stays, including after a hospital admission when someone needs skilled care for a while before returning home. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome and we would be glad to show you round.
