Byron Court Care Home is a nursing home in Bootle, Sefton, caring for older people with nursing needs, residents living with dementia, a mental health condition or a physical disability, and younger adults whose health requires nursing support. With qualified nurses on duty alongside our care team, we can support people whose needs are complex or changing, including help with medication, wounds, continence, diabetes, mobility, eating and drinking, and care at the end of life. We work closely with local doctors and community teams so that concerns are acted on early and residents stay settled here rather than being moved about unnecessarily. The clinical side matters, but so does the shape of an ordinary day. Residents decide when to get up, what they eat and how they spend their time, and our staff are expected to make time for conversation rather than only for tasks. For residents living with dementia, keeping routines familiar and faces consistent does much of the work, and knowing a person's history helps us understand them when words become difficult. Families are welcome here and we would rather hear from relatives regularly than only when something has gone wrong. Relatives usually know things about a person that we could never work out alone.
