About Newlands Care Home
We are Newlands, a nursing home in Salford. We care for older people and for younger adults with nursing needs, including adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. Combining nursing care with the kind of support people need to live a full life is what we are set up to do. Having qualified nurses on duty around the clock means health needs are managed properly here rather than becoming a reason for somebody to be moved somewhere less suitable, and it means families are not left wondering what cover exists overnight. The nursing side is essential but it is not the purpose of the place. People live here, and we work at making that a proper life. Rooms are personalised, people get up and settle when they choose, and meals are something to look forward to rather than an item on a timetable. Communication matters a great deal, particularly for the people we support who have a learning disability or who are autistic. We take time to learn how each person tells us what they want, in whatever form that takes, and we make sure every member of staff understands it before working alone. Relatives are welcome whenever they want to come and we keep them properly informed. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Please contact us if you would like to arrange a visit.
