About Fountains Care Centre
Fountains Care Centre is a nursing home in Salford. We care for older people whose health needs go beyond residential care, for people with physical disabilities, for people living with sight or hearing loss, and for people living with mental ill health alongside a physical condition. Respite stays are available as well. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours. Medication is managed closely, wound care, catheter care and conditions that fluctuate are handled on site, and a change in a resident's health tends to be noticed early because the person noticing knows them well. We work with GPs, district nurses, community mental health teams, therapists and hospital staff, and we keep asking when a resident needs something that is slow to arrive. Dementia care is a large part of our work, and we treat it as caring for a person with a history rather than managing a condition. Families hold most of that history and we ask for it early, because it is what allows us to understand distress somebody cannot put into words. For residents with physical disabilities the emphasis is on equipment that fits and transfers handled safely and without indignity. For those living with sight or hearing loss, unhurried communication makes most of the difference. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families are welcome at any reasonable hour. Ring us if you would like to come and see an ordinary day here.
