About Brinsworth House
We are Brinsworth House, a nursing home in Twickenham, in the London borough of Richmond upon Thames. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, and we also offer respite stays for those who need nursing support for a short period. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours, which allows us to care for people whose health needs are considerable and to respond quickly when something changes. We work with local GPs, district nurses, therapists and specialist teams so that concerns are acted on early rather than allowed to build. Nursing care done well is largely a matter of attention: noticing that somebody is eating less, that skin is beginning to redden, that a usually talkative person has gone quiet, that pain is not being described but is plainly there. Our team is trained to see those things and to act on them. The rest of our effort goes into making this a place worth living in. People choose their own routines, keep their own things about them, follow their own interests and see family and friends when they wish. Visiting is not rationed here. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep auditing our own practice rather than resting on it. If you are considering nursing care in this part of London, please come and visit us on an ordinary day.
