About Shrublands
Shrublands is a nursing home in Oxford. Having qualified nurses on duty means we can look after people whose health needs are beyond what a residential home can safely manage, and it means we can usually go on caring for someone as their needs increase rather than asking them to move again. We care for older people who need nursing support, including many who are living with dementia and many with physical disabilities. We also offer respite stays for people who need nursing care for a few weeks. Our clinical attention goes where it counts: medication, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, pain, safe moving and handling, and noticing early when somebody's condition is changing. We work closely with the local community health teams and with the GP practice that covers us. Good nursing care is not only clinical, though. People here have their own rooms and their own things, they choose when to get up and what to eat, and they can have company or quiet as they prefer. Families are welcome at any reasonable hour and we would rather they felt part of the place than treated as visitors. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking into nursing care in Oxford, please contact us and arrange to come and see the home properly.
