About Oaken Holt Nursing and Residential Home
Oaken Holt Nursing and Residential Home is in Oxford. We provide both residential and nursing care for older people, including many residents living with dementia, and for younger adults with nursing needs. We also offer respite stays. We will deal with the inspection first. The Care Quality Commission rated us requires improvement at our most recent inspection. We accepted the findings rather than argue with them. The work since has concentrated on the things residents and families actually feel, which are safe and accurate medication practice, consistent staffing so people are nursed by a team that knows them, and making sure a concern raised by a relative reaches a manager quickly and gets a proper answer. The nursing continues around the clock. Registered nurses on duty at all hours means wounds, pain relief, long term conditions and end of life care are managed here, with GPs, community specialists and hospital teams involved as needed. Because we offer both residential and nursing care, people do not have to move on as their needs increase. Beyond the clinical side we try to keep the place feeling like a home. Residents choose when to get up, what to eat and how to spend the day, and rooms hold their own belongings. Please come and see us, ask about the inspection directly and form your own view.
