About Court Care Home
We are a nursing home in Whitby, caring for people who need qualified nursing support as well as help with everyday life. Nurses are available at every hour, which means changes in somebody's health are noticed early and dealt with before they become serious, and it takes a weight of worry off families who have been managing alone. Most of the people who live here are older. We care for people living with dementia, and we build the day around the person rather than a timetable, keeping familiar routines going and allowing time for things to happen at the right pace. We also support people with a physical disability, working alongside therapists and community health teams so that equipment, positioning and comfort are properly considered, and people with a visual or hearing impairment, adjusting how we communicate so that nobody is left out of their own day. Respite stays are available, whether that is a planned break for a family carer or a period of recovery after illness or a hospital stay. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking residents and relatives what could be better, because the most useful feedback rarely arrives on an inspection day. If you are looking at nursing care in this part of North Yorkshire, do come and see us.
