About Belmont House Care Home
We are a nursing home in Harrogate, caring for older people and for younger adults who need nursing support, including people living with dementia. We also welcome people for respite stays where a period of nursing care is what is needed rather than a permanent move. Having qualified nurses here around the clock means that health needs which are complicated or changeable can be looked after without somebody having to move again, or spend their time going back and forth to hospital. That is what brings most families to us. What they notice once someone is living here is simpler. Whether the staff are kind, whether anybody has time to sit down for a few minutes, whether their relative seems settled. We would rather be open with you about the regulator than leave you to find out afterwards. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are working through the points raised with us, and if you are considering us for somebody in your family, please ask about it directly. We will tell you what has changed and what is still in hand rather than change the subject. Dementia asks something particular of a nursing home. A day that keeps its shape, faces that are familiar, and staff who can tell the difference between somebody being awkward and somebody being frightened or in pain. Please come and see us, and we will answer whatever you want to ask.
