About Abbots Leigh Manor Nursing Home

We are Abbots Leigh Manor Nursing Home, providing nursing care for older people near Bristol. Registered nurses are on duty around the clock, which means wound care, medication, complex health needs and the everyday monitoring that stops small problems becoming serious ones are handled here by people who see each person daily and notice when something is different. Moving into a nursing home is rarely anybody's first choice, and we would rather acknowledge that than pretend otherwise. What we can do is make it feel less like an ending. Rooms become the person's own, familiar belongings come with them, and the routines that matter carry on, whether that is a particular time for breakfast, the radio on in the morning or time spent in the garden. The day is built around what individuals want to do rather than around what suits the rota. We also provide respite care, which suits families who need a planned break and people recovering after a spell in hospital who are not quite ready to go straight home. We prepare for short stays properly so that nobody arrives feeling like a stranger. Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us good overall, and we treat that as a standard to keep meeting rather than a finish line. Relatives and friends are welcome whenever they wish to come and to stay involved as much as the person wants. If you are looking at nursing care in this area, please come and see us.
