About Swanton House Care Centre
We are a nursing home at Swanton Novers in Norfolk, caring for people whose needs require qualified nursing alongside help with daily living. We support older people and younger adults, including adults with learning disabilities and autistic people. Registered nurses on duty means that medication, pain, wounds, continence and difficulties with eating and drinking are managed properly and that changes in somebody's health are noticed early. Around that, we try to protect the ordinary parts of life: choosing when to get up, what to wear, what to eat and who you want sitting with you. For people with learning disabilities and autistic people, consistency of staff and a predictable routine often matter as much as any clinical arrangement, so we keep our team as settled as we are able to. We work alongside general practitioners, community teams and hospital staff, and we keep families properly informed rather than ringing only when something has gone wrong. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We would rather tell you that ourselves than leave you to find it elsewhere. We are working through the points the inspectors raised, and if you are considering us for someone close to you we will go through the report with you and answer whatever you want to ask. Please come and see the home as it really is.
